THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND PROCESS
We strictly only request for any personal information when it is utterly necessary. This is why we have separated all the different instances whereby a user would have to provide some personal information to ensure that we only ask for what is needed to perform a specific function, with your permission, and nothing more.
Personal information submitted within our mobile app is never shared, never accessed without a specific and distinct purpose, and is not even available to staff members.
– Using the app:
To make use of the basic functions of the app, an account is not required at all. Users are able to browse through our complete catalogue of products within the mobile app as a visitor. The only time an account is required is if the user wants to get access to the extra features.
– When creating an account:
If a user chooses to create an account within the app, we only require the following basic information:
We require this basic information to tie an account to the user. We ask for both the email address, and the contact number so that there are two avenues to recover an account should the user not be able to access or use one of them.
Once an account is created using this basic information, it is never accessed or used at all.
– When applying to be a seller in the app:
We allow users to apply to become sellers in our app so that they can list their own items for sale. This is an instance whereby the collection of personal information is an obvious requirement. We request the following:
All this information is required for the purpose of the selling functionality. Again, none of this information is ever accessed unless it is necessary. This info will only be accessed when a sellers product is sold, because in this case, an agent would need to contact the seller for them to send the item through to our facility. The address is required in case we need to send an item back to the seller.
– When making a purchase:
When a buyer is purchasing an item and placing an order, it is an obvious requirement to request the personal and delivery information from the users.
This information is used to ship the product, and then it is never accessed again until necessary again.
As you can see, we were very conscious about privacy and how we collect information when developing this new mobile app.
WHEN WE REQUEST ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE’S FILES
This is another area that we made sure to take extra care with. That is why the only time that our app will request access to your devices files will be if you are a seller, and you need to upload photos of the items that you are submitting. So only at this point will the app request for access.
